Turas Group Global Recruiting is an executive search firm based in the U.S. and with offices in Dubai and the U.K. We are conducting a search for a humble and high-caliber Finance Executive for a prestigious global client based in Kuala Lumpur. Our client has one of largest plants and manufacturing facilities in Malaysia and is committed to serving the needs of clients in the APAC region.

JOB OVERVIEW
We are working with the GM of a global client looking for a Head of Finance for their APAC business to be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This finance executive should have around 10 to 15 years of financial leadership experience and be independently in-charge of the finance function of a sizeable business generating $600 M USD in annual revenue.

YOUR ROLE:
  • Business partnering with CEO in all operational and strategic decision making. Drive day-to-day business performance through analysis and monitoring of key business performance metrics. Facilitate structured business reviews.
  • Handle finance, risk management, secretarial IT function including consolidation of financial statements. 
  • Attend reviews and meetings of board of directors for all the entities in the region.
  • Actively participate in development of 3-year Strategy Statement and Annual Business Plan.
  • Ensure financial discipline and working capital management. Ensure availability and optimum utilisation of bank facilities in co-ordination with Corporate Treasury. Monitor capital expenditure. Ensure strict credit control.
  • Monitor foreign currency, credit and counter-party risks. Help devise risk management strategies.
  • Critically examine and help strengthen existing systems, workflows, procedures, policies and controls.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws. Independently handle statutory audit and facilitate internal audit.
  • Maintain cordial relationship with Government agencies, banks, tax agents, auditors, legal firms and key business partners.
  • Provide functional expertise & guidance to the team. Build a well-motivated, high performance team.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Someone who has worked in a senior financial controllership role attached to the oils procurement desk of a large MNC.
  • Hands-on knowledge of the rules and terms governing edible oil trading, futures, FOREX and hedging mechanism
  • Counter party risk management for large scale trading operations
  • Treasury operations – including opening/negotiating Letters of Credit, working capital management and trade financing
  • Strong controllership and risk management ability
  • Hands-on experience of working on relevant ERP for maintaining and monitoring of oils position, all buy/sell trades and daily mark-to- market of open position
  • Excellent English language skills (speaking, reading and writing)
