VP of Business Development (Civilian)

This is a direct/permanent executive team role with a $20M government contractor based in Mclean.   • 4-6 captures/proposals submitted for $20M+ programs
  • 4-8 captures/proposals submitted for $1-10 programs and recompete
CURRENT PROPOSAL/CAPTURE TEAM:

  • (2) Proposal Recruiters
  • (1) Capture Manager
COMPENSATION
$180-200k + bonus

LOCATION
Mclean is the corporate HQ but this role is mostly remote

FEDERAL AGENCY FOCUS
They are mostly focused on Civilian and DHS programs (with existing prime contracts and pipeline)

TECH FOCUS
Software Engineering/Cyber/Cloud 
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of current IT technologies, be able to sell IT solutions and services within the Federal market, and generate a new client base. Key responsibilities will include account penetration, development, management, and increasing breadth and depth through the promotion and sales of IT Services Solutions. This includes agency prospecting, client relationship and customer satisfaction management, building partnering and teaming relationships, proposal development, and closing opportunities.

JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Experience sourcing, networking, implementing and executing strategic sales plans; ability to recognize and understand business opportunities and develop effective business development strategies
  • Knowledge of end-to-end capture process, proposal process, and delivery lifecycle
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; expertise in setting and managing customer expectations, to include executive-level clients
  • Experience interacting with and presenting to government customer leadership; ability to call on business and government executives and present an ROI case and value proposition
  • Established contacts and relationships with Federal clients and other federal IT contracting businesses
  • Good understanding of IT technologies, services, solutions and vertical industries, including technology infrastructure, security, network and systems engineering, software development, and professional services
  • Ability to rapidly respond to customer’s needs
  • Good organizational skills
