Peoplesoft Financials Project Manager (Agile/Scrum)

SUMMARY
This is a direct opportunity with our client, one of the largest private equity firms in the world with global HQ in DC and Arlington, VA. They are seeking an Agile/Scrum Project Manager with Peoplesoft Financials experience a proven track record leading technology projects involving process re-engineering, system implementations, and enterprise reporting initiatives. Consulting and Business Analysis skills will be required to partner directly with business professionals in the Corporate Accounting and Finance to jointly deliver business process efficiencies and automate internal and external reporting requirements. The candidate should be a highlyorganized and creative thinker who has the ability to synthesize complex ideas and communicate these clearly to a variety of stakeholder groups. Knowledge of industry best-practices regarding agile and hybrid software delivery methodologies is paramount to being able to support a diverse portfolio of projects. A background in global ERP and Consolidation systems and functional knowledge of Accounting processes is required in order to be successful in this role. Serving as Scrum Master, the candidate will be responsible for documenting existing processes, identifying requirements, proactively monitoring and resolving risks/issues, and managing releases. The candidate will interact closely with customer stakeholders, teams of contractors, and full time development staff on projects on a daily basis. This position will facilitate solution delivery using Agile best practices in the following ways:
  • Writing user stories, managing release and iteration plans, and creating business use cases
  • Working with users and technical staff to analyse and document data requirements
  • Leading daily stand-up meetings, velocity and capacity planning, and retrospectives
  • Removing any impediments in order to keep teams highly productive
  • Identifying and managing dependencies with other internal or external teams
  • Providing metrics and status to senior management 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work directly with clients on activities that include: business analysis planning, requirements elicitation and analysis, business case creation, use case design, hands on system configuration, data analysis and business and system process mapping / engineering. (40%)
  • Provide hands-on guidance and lead project teams using Agile methods. (Scrum/Kanban) (30%)
  • Assist in system testing and quality assurance process for related enhancements and new development. Ability to coordinate testing activities between several departments. (20%)
  • Assist program manager in tracking vertical related costs and budgets and assist in generating program related reports (i.e., resource utilization reports, budget reports, etc.) (10%)
JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in relevant software development, development management and/or project management experience, required
  • 3+ years of experience using Agile methods, preferred
  • Experience using a global consolidation platform
  • Bachelor’s Degree, required 
  • Certified Scrum Master, or Certified Scrum Practitioner, preferred 
  • Experience working with Agile software project management tools: JIRA, AgileVision, Trello 
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), or Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA), preferred 
  • Experience working with PeopleSoft Financials and Hyperion 
  • Understanding of the Financial Close process, SEC reporting, and foreign currency translation
  • Must possess functional knowledge across PeopleSoft Financial modules and demonstrate strong technical aptitude
  • Required experience as Scrum Master with responsibility for daily stand-up meetings, team collaboration, iteration planning, demos and retrospectives
  • Experience with agile business analysis, including documentation of user stories and test requirements, process documentation
  • Ability to identify approaches, risks, mitigation strategies to meet client/functional requirements
  • Experience working with multi-tiered entity structures and a global organization, preferred
  • Consulting skills required with, excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Dedicated to exemplary customer service 
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project skills, SharePoint 
  • Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) knowledge
  • Experience with Business Process Mapping 
  • Experience in working with Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions
