Virtual Senior Sales Engineer (BPM/BPA Software): 180k+

This is a direct position with our client (we are a search firm only). Our client is a $bn+ global software firm with USHQ in the DC area.  This is a remote position providing sales solution engineering leadership to global Midwest commercial clients. Our client is a leader in BPM, BPA and Big Data software.

JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Sales Engineer role within the sales process is to fully understand a prospect’s business problem and construct a solution with corresponding architecture to address the customer need(s). The Senior Sales Engineer exhibits a high level of technology, sales, and business maturity, operates independently in sales activities.

JOB OBJECTIVES
• Design Architecture Blueprints
• Pre-sales software sales solution engineering 
• Standard and Custom Demonstrations
• Prospect qualification and requirement discovery
• Account Management from a technical perspective
• Own and progress opportunities through qualification, definition, proof/evaluation, proposal and closure
• Lead implementation of POC/POV’s and custom demos
• Respond to the capabilities sections of RFI/RFP’s
• Ensure a prospect’s business needs can be addressed with Software AG’s capabilities
• Listen, understand and analyze the prospect’s business requirements, compose, validate and present solutions
• Define POC/POV or custom demonstration scenarios

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• 10 years professional experience (preferably sales or systems engineering)
• Competency in various languages (e.g. Java, C/C++, Perl, Python, NodeJs)
• Experience with CEP, BPM, aPaaS, ESB, EDA, SOA, EAI and BI
• Experience with a wide spectrum of Operating Systems (e.g. NT, Unix, ZOS) and Databases (SQL, Hadoop, Cassandra)
• Able to lead teams of Systems Engineers on Proof of Concepts, Solution/Architecture, Planning and Custom demos
• Very strong in depth knowledge of Enterprise Software technologies and solutions
• Ability to lead Discovery and Customer First Assessment Meetings to identify business value and ROI for complex business challenges• Experience with a wide range of applications (e.g. ERP, CRM)
• Demonstrate a team attitude and leadership
• Ability to act as a mentor due to outstanding character, judgment and knowledge
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience developing and presenting clear and concise product briefings
• BS Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or other technical field
