Senior Software Sales Engineer (BPM/BPA Software): 180k+

This is a direct position with our client (we are a search firm only) and our client will accept H1B applicants. Our client is a $bn+ global software firm with USHQ in the DC area.  This is a remote position based out of the CHicago area providing sales solution engineering leadership to global Midwest commercial clients. They are a leader in Big Data software product development and a leading provider of game changing Big Data management solutions for the enterprise. Their flagship Big Data product line features Big Data in-memory solutions that deliver performance at any scale. Their other award winning data management solutions include the de facto caching standard and the de facto scheduler for enterprise Java. Our client supports the data management needs of a majority of the Global 1000 with over 500,000 deployments of its products.

JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Sales Engineer role within the sales process is to fully understand a prospect’s business problem and construct a solution with corresponding architecture to address the customer need(s). The Senior Sales Engineer exhibits a high level of technology, sales, and business maturity, operates independently in sales activities.

JOB OBJECTIVES
• Design Architecture Blueprints
• Pre-sales software sales solution engineering 
• Standard and Custom Demonstrations
• Prospect qualification and requirement discovery
• Account Management from a technical perspective
• Own and progress opportunities through qualification, definition, proof/evaluation, proposal and closure
• Lead implementation of POC/POV’s and custom demos
• Respond to the capabilities sections of RFI/RFP’s
• Ensure a prospect’s business needs can be addressed with Software AG’s capabilities
• Listen, understand and analyze the prospect’s business requirements, compose, validate and present solutions
• Define POC/POV or custom demonstration scenarios

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• 10 years professional experience (preferably sales or systems engineering)
• Competency in various languages (e.g. Java, C/C++, Perl, Python, NodeJs)
• Experience with CEP, BPM, aPaaS, ESB, EDA, SOA, EAI and BI
• Experience with a wide spectrum of Operating Systems (e.g. NT, Unix, ZOS) and Databases (SQL, Hadoop, Cassandra)
• Able to lead teams of Systems Engineers on Proof of Concepts, Solution/Architecture, Planning and Custom demos
• Very strong in depth knowledge of Enterprise Software technologies and solutions
• Ability to lead Discovery and Customer First Assessment Meetings to identify business value and ROI for complex business challenges• Experience with a wide range of applications (e.g. ERP, CRM)
• Demonstrate a team attitude and leadership
• Ability to act as a mentor due to outstanding character, judgment and knowledge
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience developing and presenting clear and concise product briefings

• BS Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or other technical field
